Community Center

We are continuing a capital fundraising project to realize our dream of turning the old West Course golf clubhouse in Colorado City into a community center. We are seeking funds for Phase V of the building project (see below). Thanks to a generous donor and successful fundraising events, we have completed Phases I through IV.  A key to the success of this new Community Center operated by VFC is its location on the 123-acre former golf course and its eventual connectivity via a trail system to Lake Beckwith and other sites. The Community Center will act as a trailhead for this system. This makes it the focal point for attracting tourism and economic development, as well as providing a new local amenity

We have renovated the old clubhouse into an energy-efficient building that can be used as a nature center, events center, trailhead for tourists and local hiking and biking, as well as for VFC charitable events. We have a variety of rooms with spectacular views that can be rented at really reasonable rates for weddings, graduation parties, family reunions, business meetings and any other gathering that may interest you. All the rooms have spectacular views of the mountains. Please call the center at 719-676-1011 (leave message) to get rates and maximum occupancy numbers.
